9-DAYS NORTHERN CIRCUIT TREK

Day 0: Arrival in Arusha

  • Pickup from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO)

  • Overnight at Summit Lodge Arusha

  • Pre-climb briefing & gear check

Day 1: Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m)

  • Hike through rainforest

  • 3–4 hrs walk

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)

  • Scenic views of the Shira Plateau

  • 6–7 hrs

Day 3: Shira 1 – Shira 2 Camp

Day 4: Shira 2 – Moir Hut

Day 5: Moir Hut – Buffalo Camp (4,020m)

  • Cross into northern slopes

  • 5–6 hrs

Day 6: Buffalo – Third Cave Camp (3,870m)

Day 7: Third Cave – School Hut

Day 8: School Hut – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

  • Midnight summit attempt via Gilman’s Point

  • Descend to Mweka

  • 12–14 hrs

Day 9: Mweka – Mweka Gate – Arusha

  • Transfer to Arusha or airport

  • 3–4 hrs

INCLUSIONS

  • Pickup/drop-off at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO)

  • 1-night at Summit Lodge Arusha before trek

  • Kilimanjaro park fees & camping fees

  • Professional English-speaking guides, porters, cook

  • Tents, sleeping mats, dining tent

  • All meals on the mountain (B/L/D)

  • Drinking water

  • AMREF emergency evacuation

  • Oxygen cylinder (for emergencies)

  • Certificate of achievement

  • International flights & visa

  • Travel insurance (required)

  • Personal climbing gear (available for rent)

  • Tips for crew (~$250–350 per climber)
