6-DAYS LEMOSHO ROUTE CLIMB

Day 0: Arrival in Arusha

  • Pickup from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

  • Transfer to Summit Lodge, Arusha

  • Pre-climb briefing and gear check with your mountain guide

  • Overnight at Summit Lodge (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha – Lemosho Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m)

  • Transfer to Lemosho Gate

  • Begin trekking through rainforest

  • Distance: 6 km | Time: 3–4 hrs

  • Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa – Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

  • Trek through heather and moorland, passing Shira 1

  • Long scenic day on Shira Plateau

  • Distance: 16 km | Time: 8–9 hrs

  • Overnight at Shira 2 Camp

Day 3: Shira 2 – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp (3,976m)

  • Acclimatization day via Lava Tower (4,630m)

  • Descend to Barranco Camp for overnight

  • Distance: 10 km | Time: 6–7 hrs

  • Overnight at Barranco Camp

Day 4: Barranco – Barafu Camp (4,673m)

  • Climb the iconic Barranco Wall

  • Continue through alpine desert to Barafu Base Camp

  • Distance: 9 km | Time: 7–8 hrs

  • Overnight at Barafu Camp

Day 5: Barafu – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,068m)

  • Midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak

  • Celebrate at the top of Africa, then descend to Mweka Camp

  • Distance: ~17 km | Time: 12–14 hrs

  • Overnight at Mweka Camp

Day 6: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Arusha

  • Final descent through rainforest

  • Distance: 10 km | Time: 3–4 hrs

  • Transfer back to Arusha

  • Optional overnight at Summit Lodge or airport drop-off

  • International flights & visa fees

  • Climbing gear (available for rent if needed)

  • Personal travel insurance (required)

  • Crew tips (Recommended: $250–$300 per person)

  • Hotel extras such as laundry, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages

  • Extra hotel nights before/after the climb (unless arranged separately)
