Lake Manyara National Park
A small but incredibly diverse park, Lake Manyara National Park stretches along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, offering stunning scenery and a variety of habitats — from evergreen forests to open grasslands and hot springs. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos that paint the lake pink.
Manyara is ideal for a relaxed day safari and birdwatching. The groundwater forest at the entrance feels almost magical, filled with blue monkeys and baboons, while the lakeshore draws elephants, hippos, and buffalo. Cultural tours in nearby Mto wa Mbu village provide a glimpse into Tanzania’s diverse tribes and traditions.
